After winning a silver medal in shooting at the Paris 2024 Olympics, Kim Ye-ji has decided to hang up her guns for the time being.

“Kim Ye-ji has terminated her contract with her team, Imsil County Office,” her agency, Flipkil, announced in a press release on June 6.

Kim's original contract was until December of this year.

Instead of re-signing, he decided to end his contract early.

The agency explained, “After the National Sports Competition last month, there are no more competitions scheduled for this year, and next year's season starts in April, so he terminated his contract early.”

“Kim Ye-ji will take a short break and prepare for a bigger leap forward,” the agency said, adding that she plans to continue her external activities to promote shooting.

“I will take a break from my journey as an Olympic medalist to spend time with my child and fulfill my role as a mother,” Kim said through her agency.

“I hope you can think of this break as a process to further develop as a shooter,” she said, adding, ”The timing of my return is undecided, but I will do my best to return as soon as possible.”

In an interview with CNN in the US last month, he said: “Being an athlete, I never thought about being in a movie. I'm happy to do it if it means more people will be exposed to shooting,” he said, adding, ”Thank you for calling me a fashion icon, but I'm a shooter. The photo shoot is just a part of me,” she said, emphasizing her athleticism.

Kim finished seventh in the women's 25-meter pistol final at last month's national championships, 파워볼사이트 and finished 13th in the air pistol final with a score of 4, failing to qualify for the finals.

Kim had already decided to take a break from shooting before the national championships.

The Paris Olympic medalist had qualified for the International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF) World Cup Finals in New Delhi, India, from Nov. 13-18, but she informed her team and the Korean Shooting Federation of her intention to withdraw from the competition for unknown reasons.

Kim was previously named the first Korean ambassador for Tesla Korea.

Shortly after Kim won a silver medal in the 10-meter air pistol event at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, a video of him nonchalantly dropping his gun like a movie killer after setting a world record in the 25-meter pistol final at the International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF) Baku Shooting World Cup in May went viral on social media platform X (formerly Twitter).

X owner and Tesla CEO Musk commented on the video, “You don't have to act. Let's cast her in an action movie,” which led to her becoming a Tesla ambassador.

In addition, Kim has been actively involved in publicity campaigns to promote shooting, including photo shoots with luxury brands such as Givenchy and Louis Vuitton, as well as fashion magazines, and a cameo appearance as a killer in a movie trailer.
